Do you want a mosaic workshop for your organisation?

I run workshops for small groups (max 15) as part of events, festivals, conferences, professional development training, or team away day. I can tailor the workshop to the timings you have available as part of your event. I will work with you in using a mosaic workshop as an integral part of a “creative headspace” for your event. If you wish to have a specific theme for the mosaic workshop, I can tailor the session for what you have in mind. Get in touch with me to discuss the possibilities of incorporating a mosaic workshop in your activities.

Wellbeing at work

Running a mosaic workshop for your employees is one tool among others that fosters awareness of the wellbeing wheel and creates an opportunity to engage in wellbeing action taking.

A large number of reports have shown that mental health and wellbeing in workplace environments are challenging issues (example for academia).

In June 2019, I ran some mosaic workshops at The University of Sheffield as part of the Researcher Wellbeing programme. It brought together researchers (PhD students and Postdoctoral researchers) from different disciplines who for the time of a long lunch came together to relax, meet and experience mosaic making.

Retreats

Consider including a mosaic session into:

  • Team building and training events

  • Sports residentials

  • Coaching weekends

  • Network building

In Spring 2019, I was invited by Hilary Jones to contribute to the programme of a yoga retreat held in a beautiful location in the Peak District. My mosaic workshop was included in the programme of activities offered during the residential retreat, providing a creative outlet in addition to intense physical yoga sessions, meditation, walks and convivial shared moments.

Collaboration

If you are a mosaic artist with a large project in need of extra hands, get in touch as I am keen to collaborate, meet and support other mosaic artists.

I look forward to working on large mosaic projects with diverse communities. Some of the recent collaborative mosaic projects which I have found fascinating are described here and here. My dream is to work on such collaborations in the future.

In the Autumn 2019, I had the privilege to work alongside my mosaic mentor, Coralie Turpin to help her finish a large mosaic commission. This mosaic had been commissioned by Asda as part of a community engagement project following the removal of a dance hall linked to a store’s expansion. Coralie has extensive experience in public art and I learned a great deal about producing large external mosaics.
